"It's a catastrophe!"
I exclaimed that night
when I saw her body,
lying under the lamp-post light.
My heart cried seeing her state,
her tortured body moaned at her fate
Having undergone extreme bloodshed,
her soul had faced immense threats.
Her instinct to survive was very strong,
her urge to revive remained prolonged
I rushed to protect her,
hankering to save her.
Admitted her in the hospital,
fearing her death
Her grieved soul compelled me,
to cry at her fate.
Locked in this treacherous world,
she yearned for mercy,
She pleaded for the hanging of those
who are condemned of turning her life,
into something it never deserved.
Stuck amidst misery and agony,
she only wanted justice to be served.
Lying helpless on the stretcher,
she was counting her last breath
Though wanting to survive,
her body resisted and stepped closer to death.
Looking at her with those beseeching eyes,
were those demonic faces with a grin
In the moving bus on that fateful night,
no one could stop them from committing the sin.
Her innocence devastated,
The dreams were shattered
Her life succumbed to immeasurable pain,
"Maa!" is the last word she would have possibly uttered.
There's no place for justice
in this heinous world filled with crimes,
Though public outrage arises.
Which, too, the world forgets with time.
Mothers, sisters, wives, and babies
will continue to become the prey,
Till a father, a brother, a husband, a man,
fails to realize that women too have a say.
That equality is not only a dogma,
that being born a girl is not a stigma.
That being a man implies being a true hero
and not someone with a high libido.

Let's pledge to make this world a place,
where every woman can find solace.
Where all men view beauty with respect than lust,
where freedom for all is a reality,
Education for all, a must.
